This famous Estes Park lake has been a favorite destination of tourists for decades. Since it’s so close to Rocky Mountain National Park, those who are visiting find coming to Lake Estes provides some relaxation in between other more adventurous outdoor recreation in the area.
Location/Directions
Highway 34 goes through the town of Estes Park and provides access to Lake Estes. If coming from Loveland, the lake will be on your left once you start to enter town.

The Lake Estes Trail is an easy 3.7-mile hike around the lake, or you can rent a bike and ride it. It’s a paved trail so it is perfect for hiking, biking or even skating or jogging. - Camping

At Lake Estes you’ll find a marina that provides just about anything you’d need for a wonderful time. Rent boats, bikes, get a fishing license, go swimming, play volleyball or horseshoes.
Boating on Lake Estes is restricted to wakeless so be sure to take note of this. Ice fishing is not permitted on the lake.
